Two years ago a young woman contacted me about getting a trailer. I don’t sell trailers or mobile homes usually but I do sell View homes.

She said she wanted one in Longview WA. She was from Nevada and had never been to Longview or even Washington state. I asked her why choose Longview? She said , “I picked that area to be close to the ocean.”

My reply...”Then let's find you a place at the ocean!

She told me about her life story and the many bad things that happened to her that are too unmentionable to post. She said she just needed to find a place to heal.

She said she couldn’t afford anything over $150,000. I told her I can make it happen.

I searched the area and found a condo in Long Beach WA facing a clear DIRECT view of the ocean. Only $135,000. It was the last one. I drove 2 hours there to view it and video it for her. As we did FaceTime she wept. Then I wept. I had to do everything I could to get this for her.

We put an offer on it and it was accepted.

After 5 days of traveling to get there she got her keys and sat on the beach with her shoes off and just sat and cried tears of joy. An Eagle flew overhead and she cried for another half an hour.

My job was done.

One of the interesting parts about this transaction was that even though I can sell real estate in Washington state the state is broken up into two MLSs. I don’t have access to the MLS in Long Beach so I reached out to a friend and local agent that help me get into the home with his lockbox key and offered to sit at the home inspection. It would have never happened without his help.

He didn’t expect any commission on the transaction but I actually gave him all of my commission. For me it was just about my client getting into a home and starting her healing process. I paid to have the home cleaned before she got there. Both the other agent and I pitched in to get the minor fixes taking care that came up on Inspection.

I love how two brokerages and agents collaborated together to do big things for people that deserve so much goodness.

Real estate is about people not transactions.
